Snowfall 2024: in the Forest, Information & Announcement

It is almost December, and it is just about snowflake time again! My annual Snowfall CAL will start in a week. To make things a bit simpler for me this year I have decided that this will be a CAL/MAL hybrid. All the information you need before we get started is below.

CAL/MAL Information

The Crochet Along (CAL) / Make Along (MAL) will start December 6th and every other day 1 free pattern will be published on my website and a paid pattern from the eBook will be featured.

The eBook will be published on December 6th and if you purchase the eBook on Ravelry or Etsy it will contain all of the patterns right away.

I will update the links below when each Snowflake is released.

The CAL/MAL will be “hosted” in my new facebook group: “Jessica Wifall’s Crochet Studio“. You can still participate in the CAL/MAL without joining the group but it’s a great place to ask questions and share.

Pattern Support

Whether you are making only the free snowflakes or are making all of them, please join me in my new facebook group: “Jessica Wifall’s Crochet Studio“. Make sure to answer the questions and agree to the rules when joining.

This is the group where I will be hosting this year’s Snowflake CAL/MAL. Joining the group is not required to participate but it is a great place to ask questions of me and the community and share your creations and works in progress.

This year I will also have video tutorials for at least one of the free patterns in this set (more if I manage it). I already have one snowflake video tutorial on my YouTube channel so if you like video tutorials for patterns try starting there. The video is in English and US terms only, but I have a mirrored version for left hand available if preferred.

Inspiration and Names

For this year snowflakes I started with a completely different idea for a theme but partway through I decided I didn’t like that idea, and I thought I would just design the most beautiful snowflakes I could come up with. I feel this is one of my most beautiful collections. I decided to name the snowflakes after trees after designing “Pine”. I often refer to parts of the snowflakes as branches in my patterns and Pine in particular is very “branchy”.

Also, I just like trees.
